With the release of his most recent extended play, “My House,” Flo Rida continues his success and truly makes the rapping industry his house.

“My House” features varied melodies, an array of impressive beats and smooth rapping to round out a seven-song EP that carries on the recent success of his last album, “Wild Ones.”

Flo Rida started his career as a rapper with the release of “Mail On Sunday.” This album featured his most popular song “Low,” which was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 when it first debuted.

Since then, he has over 75 million downloads worldwide and has greatly influenced the growth of hip-hop and electronic dance music through his four released albums. “My House” is Flo Rida’s first EP and is expected to be closely followed by a fifth studio album.

“My House” starts off with a catchy, unique song called “Once In a Lifetime,” which features smooth background vocals and alternating beats. Flo Rida starts off fast with captivating lyrics and even flow.

In one part of the song, he seems to metaphorically explain that he is back to make relevant music when he says, “Been around the world and I came right back for your love.” These lyrics add meaning to the song, making it more personal to Flo Rida, while also making it relatable for listeners.

Another major highlight of this EP is the fluid, mellow beats that Flo Rida pairs with his more intense rapping to create overall balanced songs. For example, his song, “My House,” is intriguing due to the use of multiple instruments in the background, such as piano, drums and snapping, which gives the song variation and makes it constantly engaging.

Another high point of the EP is that it features many famous artists who add variety and interest to the songs. For example, Flo Rida’s song “I Don’t Like It, I Love It” features Robin Thicke and Verdine White. The smooth singing of these featured artists contrasts Flo Rida’s hard-hitting rapping, creating an enjoyable contrast. The album is full of other guest artists, and the constant variation allows the EP to always feel fresh.

After a slight disappearance from the hip-hop business, Flo Rida shows once again that he is relevant and deserving of praise for this thoroughly impressive EP.

“My House” is available digitally and in retail for $5.99.
