On Saturday, April 25, at Dockweiler Beach in El Segundo, Costa’s girls beach volleyball team remained undefeated after winning a match against Palos Verdes, and then winning by forfeit of their opponent, South Torrance.
Claudia Lemieux and Chloe Markland beat Palos Verdes 21-12 and 21-17. Ashley Anselmo and Avery Hazelrigg also beat their opponents 21-10 and 21-13. Both teams defeated their opponents by a landslide, allowing them to maintain their undefeated season record.
“I used the wind to my advantage when serving and got many aces, but I could improve on not setting my partner too tight to the net just because she is tall” Hazelrigg said.
