Mira Costa’s girls volleyball team defeated Palos Verdes 3-0 last night at Palos Verdes High School.
In the first set, the Mustangs pulled through and won 25-22 with multiple blocks by junior middle blocker Claire Haber. Costa kept the energy up through the second set and won 25-18. In the third set, The Mustangs finished off strong, 25-20, ending the game 3-0.
“Overall we played well tonight,” Haber said. “The gym was pretty quiet so we definitely had to rally and get fired up as a team to bring some energy out on the court.”
Costa’s overall record is 13-2 and is 1-0 in Bay League. The team will take on Peninsula, 5-6, on Tuesday at Costa at 5:15 pm.
“The upcoming game against Peninsula will be a continuation for people being able to prove themselves,” junior setter Britt Bommer said. “This will also give us the ability to try new things and different lineups.”
