Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman dropped the long awaited album, self titled ‘Majid Jordan’. The soulful lyrics and rhythmic tempos construct their flawless album. The seemingly perfect album has well paced melodies and a quality lyrical themes.

The album come across as rather simple, but the melodically tune and smoothing beats prevents the songs from becoming boring. The songs capture your attention without being loud and obnoxious. Yet the album has numerous repetitive sounding songs that take you away from the music.

Majid Jordan is made up of the duo Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman who first meet at University of Toronto where they collaborated on music and begun to work together in Ullman’s parents basement, their first album, “Afterhours,” was released in August 2013 at the record label ‘Good People’.

Slowly rising to success they later left, Good People to sign with rapper Drake’s label, OVO Sound. Their co-production on collaborations with Drake had them at number one on iTunes top charts, and high success in several other singles produced after such as ‘All I Do’ and ‘Her’. They’ve currently produced their latest album self titled ‘Majid Jordan’  released on February 5, 2016.

The songs in ‘Majid Jordan’ enthrall the listeners and make for an well paced tempo. The album portrays new and fresh R&B music that’s perfect for the radio and mainstream attention but has quality that fans will love.

The music displays repetitiveness comparatively speaking to the other songs in the album like ‘King City’ and ‘Warm’. Most of the songs sound completely the same as the other ones, and that makes it monotone for the listener. Mainly the difference in pace of the beats make it sound different.

The theme that is woven throughout the album are redundant as well. The constant love songs get old quickly. Although the quality of the lyrics are there, they are just in every single song, which makes it hard to keep listening to the whole album.

Although, the album does carry good qualities in the sense that it is still good music, just repetitive. The album has catchy beats and smooth rhythms that make up for its similarities to the other songs.

Maskati and Ullman’s album ‘Majid Jordan’ can be found on Soundcloud and Spotify or purchased on Itunes for $9.99.
