Pokemon spin off, “Pocket Morty”, gives players hours of addicting gameplay. The game’s quality is outstanding, and is very hard to get sick of.

The game is based on Adult Swim’s show “Rick and Morty”, and stars the shows main characters Rick (Justin Roiland) and Morty (Justin Roiland). The series follows the misadventures of alcoholic scientist Rick and his easily influenced grandson Morty as they embark on crazy adventures.

The goal of the game is to battle through a multitude of other forms of Morties, and collect badges from different Ricks as well. The purpose of collecting these badges is to gain back the ray gun that was lost earlier in the game.

One of the main themes in the show is traveling to different dimensions, and is carried over making it a large aspect of the game. Morty travels from portals in different dimensions battling his way through other Morties.

The creators of the game did a fantastic job of keeping the feel of pokemon throughout the story, while still making their own unique game. There are hundreds of different Morty’s, and the player is given the option to capture and train any of them. This helps diversify the game and leads to lots of different gameplay time.

Although this game is a derivative of Pokemon, the creators did a great job adding their own completely different characters into it. For players who have played both games, it will feel very similar and should not be difficult to get used to. This makes the game simple to begin playing with ease.

The quality of Pocket Morty was surprisingly good, and had very little bugs and very smooth resolution. The gameplay quality is outstanding and hardly ever glitches. This is a great advantage over other iphone games and it truly separates it from any games alike.

The players are given a massive variety of freedom. They  are given the option of completing the main stories quests, or occupying their time completing a series of unrelated side quests throughout the world. The player is also given the option of just roaming around freely leveling up their morty, which makes the rest of the game easier to complete.

One of the game’s only problems was the repetitiveness of the main story-line at times. It felt as if some missions were just being done over and over again, which was frustrating and led to less satisfaction from completing them. This could’ve easily been fixed by adding more side quests which there were a great shortage of.

The game “Pocket Morty” and the actual show almost directly correlate, and players could enhance their entertainment in the game by watching some episodes. The game includes many inside jokes that would only be understood from watching the show. This makes for a more in depth story for the player.

“Pocket Morty” is available for download on the iPhone appstore for free, as well as the google play store for android.
