Glenn Marx teaches government at Mira Costa High School. Mr. Marx incorporated current politics into his lectures during class which was controversial for teachers because they were encouraged not to share their political opinions.
Bill Fauver has a cardboard cutout of Republican presidential nominee Donald J. Trump standing in the corner of his classroom. However, Fauver claims the cutout was put there as a joke.
Marx explained the political climate of the 2016 election. The class analyzed the current polls in swing states and addressed how they would change the results of the electoral college.
Mr. Marx addresses the current fragmenting of the republican party. He went into detail on Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan’s decision to distance himself from Donald Trump.
Mr Fauver has his class analyze an electoral map to show the what the results would be like if the election happened today. The polls showed an overwhelming win for Hillary Clinton.
