  1. If you are not yet registered, you can visit lavote.net to register online anytime before midnight on Oct. 25.
  2. You will need either a California driver license or identification number, the last four digits of your social security number and your date of birth.
  3. Once registered, you will receive a sample ballot which contains information on different candidates, state measures, county measures, and local measures such as our school, health, and water districts. Be sure to do adequate research to make an informed vote.
  4. If you want to place your vote by mail, you must request a ballot online by November 1 and LA County must receive your mailed-in ballot by November 8 (make sure to sign the back of the ballot or it becomes invalid).
  5. If you do not mail your ballot in on time, you may drop it off at a polling location on election day, November 8.
  6. Use a blue or black pen to fill out the ballot.
  7. On election day, there will be 6 locations in Manhattan Beach to place your votes and 2 locations in Hermosa Beach. Your assigned polling location will be printed on the sample ballot or you can access the information online.
  8. On election day the polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. but you may begin mailing in completed ballots on Oct. 11.
