Mira Costa administration decided to extend campus security from 7:00 am-10:30 pm Monday through Friday in order to accommodate on-campus activities that take place later in the day, Costa Principal Dr. Ben Dale stated in an email earlier today.

In the email, Dale stated that security will not only remain on campus, but will also be available to aid students during later hours. If needed, a student can contact the security team by calling 424-350-9227 to aid them in walking across campus.

“After calling the security number, a campus security guard will come to your location and check out the situation or escort you to where you are going,” Dale said in the email.

Since security will no longer be present after 10:30 pm, the school will not permit any activities from remaining on campus past that hour. In order to do so, the organization will have to contact Costa Vice Principal Jon Shaw or Costa Security Lead Ray Lee.

“It is important to note that there should be no campus activity involving staff or students after 10:30 pm,” Dale wrote.
