The Mustangs took three pairs of doubles tandems to the Jack Kramer Country Club on November 4, to take part in the Bay League Doubles tournament. The girls sent seniors Alex Vand, Sara Derian, and Laura Derian along with sophomores Hannah Proctor, Hanna McGuire, and Lauren Watts.
Seniors Vand and Sara Derian as well as sophomores Proctor and Watts were knocked out in the first round.
Senior Laura Derian and sophomore McGuire made it through the first round winning (8-4) and then losing in the second round (2-6)(5-7). The senior-sophomore pairing was the Mustang’s top doubles group of the season.
Sophomore Maegan Manasse finished her singles tournament with a victory over Redondo Union’s Elle Taylor in the championship match. Manasse finished the season 57-0; heading into CIF with a perfect record.
The girls will begin CIF play-offs on Nov.11, with the time and location to be announced.
