Mira Costa’s boys wrestling team beat Beverly Hills 64-12 on Thursday in a home meet. Top performers included junior Mitchell Halvorsen and senior Jean Paul Le Bosnoyani.

Halvorsen, who participated in the 120-pound division, went 1-0 in his matches, winning by forfeit. According to Halvorsen, Costa performed at a high level.

“Even though Beverly Hills did not have wrestlers for multiple weight classes including mine, there were many solid matches throughout,” Halvorsen said. “We wrestled well and it paid off in a win.”

The wrestling team, now 2-8 overall, will participate in their eleventh meet of the season at Millikan High on Saturday. According to Halvorsen, the Mustangs have been working hard and it is paying off.

“We are very excited for the last couple matches of the season and California Interscholastic Federation,” Halvorsen said. “We have been working hard and wrestling to our highest potential and hopefully we can continue that.”
