Mira Costa’s boys soccer team were defeated by Redondo Union 2-1 away on Thursday, making it two loses in two games against Redondo. Top performances came from Senior forward Coleman Weaver and Junior midfielder Tanner Hong.

The game was a bit of deja vu for the Mustangs, as they had lost 2-1 earlier in the season to Redondo. Both games were extremely close, and according to junior defender Josh Rudow the losses have left the team bitter.

“I think that both games against Redondo we played very well,” Rudow said. “We worked as hard as we could but we just could not get the victory.”

The Mustangs, now 12-5-2 and 6-3-0 in Bay League, will play the Morningside Monarchs on Friday. The game will be the last Bay League game for many of the seniors on the team, and Rudow believes that the team is hoping to end on a good note.

“We are going to leave everything on the pitch on Friday, and make sure we get one more win before we go on to CIF playoffs,” Rudow said.
