Mira Costa’s girls lacrosse was defeated by Agoura High School 2-20 on Wednesday playing away at Agoura.  The team was lead by sophomore Kelli Mark who helped costa’s offensive push with two goals goals.

Some of Costa’s offensive struggles in the game were due to junior forward Charlie Manley’s ankle injury from the last game and her ability to make plays on offense.  Junior Jamie Averch said that the Costa’s was exposed on defense and were unable to connect their passes.

“Overall we were communicating and getting the ball down field really effectively,”  Averch said.  “Aso it was great to see that we were able to finish a lot of out offensive chances and maintain possession in the other team’s half.”

Costa, now 3-3 overall, will take on Crescenta Valley High School on Friday at Waller Stadium.  Averch said that the next game will not be easy as well and so the girls are going to have to have a solid few days of training in preparation.

“Crescenta Valley is usually a pretty solid team when it comes to lax,” Averch said. “In order to be prepared to take them on on Friday we are going to have to make sure are few days of training are really good.”
