Mira Costa boys soccer beat the Culver City Centaurs 3-1 on Dec. 14.

The Mustangs had possession of the ball the majority of the game. They started strongly with an early goal by senior midfielder D.J. Peper.  Costa continued to attack and senior Charlie Pitts added another goal off a cross from junior Andy Macedo. The Centaurs were able to score a goal, making the game 2-1 at halftime.

Costa began the second half with just as much ball control as the first half. This created many opportunities. Senior Cody Espeso was able to place a free kick to junior Indheca Wycoff who flicked the ball into the back of the net.

“3-1, both goals were good in the first half.  Andy Macedo had a really good game.  His cross down the wing to Charlie Pitts was a great goal.  The flick off the throw in was also positive for us.  We practice that a lot in practice and it is nice to have it work in the game,” Mira Costa boys soccer coach Gary Smith said.

The Mustangs travel to South for their next game on Dec. 16.
