Costa’s boys water polo team defeated Los Ojos High School 9-5 at home on Tuesday, October 24. The Mustangs took their victory, with the help of the top performers, Ethan Chalk and Clay Allen.

Chalk played incredibly with amazing defense throughout the game and contributed to the score with two goals. Helping Chalk with the offense was Allen who contributed to the final score also with two goals. These two players allowed for the Mustangs to build up a lead.

“We played a good game because we played tight defense and we were able to put away our shots when given the opportunity,” Chalk said. “To improve we need to have better passes as well as communication.”

The Mustangs will compete against Redondo Union High School at Redondo on Wednesday, October 25th. The team is expecting to play well but knows that it will be tough especially considering they will not be the favorite, according to Hudson Carter.

“We are expecting them to come out fired up and ready to play and since we are away we aren’t expecting to be the crowd favorite,” Carter said. “In order to win we will need to play really great defense.”
