Justin Timberlake’s newest album, “Man of the Woods” astonishes listeners with catchy beats and clever lyrics.
Timberlake’s album exceeds expectations by intertwining the unique sounds of pop and country into the songs. The intriguing vocals and funk-soul vibe resonates throughout the album and highlights his experience in the music industry.
Produced by Danja and Timbaland, RCA Records released “Man of the Woods” on Feb. 2. The album features artists Chris Stapleton and Alicia Keys in select songs such as “Say Something” and “Morning Light.”
Timberlake is a 10-time Grammy Award winner, and is well known for his albums “FutureSex/LoveSounds” and “The 20/20 Experience”. Besides his success in the music industry, Timberlake is also an accomplished actor and four-time Emmy award winner for his acting on Saturday Night Live.
The sound produced from the combination of guitars and pianos create captivating rhythms and keeps the listener engaged. Timberlake’s song “Filthy” incorporates the harmonious rhythms and also features many electric beats.
Each track’s acoustics are astonishingly distinct from the next, allowing each song to be individually captivating. For example, one song in the album, “Sauce,” is very upbeat and funky, while another track, “Morning Light,” provides a slow-tempo rhythm and country vibe.
Timberlake’s variety of singing styles are charismatic throughout the album, showcasing his talent and emotion. In “Midnight Summer Jam,” Timberlake passionately sings in the higher end of his vocal range displaying his variety of tones. The song also includes a chorus that sounds harmoniously in tune with Timberlake’s vocals, amplifying the energy throughout.
The moderately pitched guitars and chorus combine to give an uplifting mood to the album. For example, in the song, “Supplies,” the electric guitars start off the song and are then joined by the melodic chorus. These instrumentals add to the electric feel of the album.
Timberlake’s intriguing personal experiences are highlighted in his well-written lyrics. For instance, in the song, “Young Man,” the lyrics are Timberlake’s advice to his younger son, Silas. The lyrics are extremely inspirational and add to the originality of the album.
“Man of the Woods” satisfies listeners and consists of a melodic album that utilizes charismatic vocals to complement the well-written lyrics.
“Man of the Woods” was released on Feb. 2 and is available for streaming on platforms such as iTunes and Spotify.
