The Mira Costa boys lacrosse team defeated St. John Bosco, 12-5, at home on March 14. The top performer of the game included junior Jacob Fernandez for numerous goals to help lead Costa to a win.

Throughout the game, Fernandez and junior Max Geoghan led scoring for the Mustangs to help gain an early lead. Costa also had many more individuals that scored including juniors Josh Maruyama, Baker Harrington, Connor Barnes, and senior Macallan Laver. Despite losing most of their face offs, Costa held the lead to handedly defeat the Braves.

“We did a really good job on working with off-ball movement on offense,” sophomore Dane Weber said. “We made sure to make use of every possession that we got.”

The Mira Costa boys lacrosse team is now 4-2 overall and will next face off against the El Segundo Eagles at El Segundo High School on March 19.

“We have 3 games next week so we have to keep putting in work,” Weber said. “Hopefully we can finish the week with a record of 7-2 and if we can do that we will have a good position in the rankings.”
