Costa Swim overcomes South Torrance

The Mira Costa swim team defeated South Torrance High School at home on Mar. 15.  The top performers of the meet included junior Alex Crisera and junior Kai Bathurst for winning the 200m freestyle to help the Mustangs to a victory.

The Mustangs were victorious in the boys and girls 200m Medley Relay. The boys finished first with a time of 1:42.94 and the girls finished with a time of 1:55.03. Crisera placed first in the 200m freestyle in 1:59.99 seconds and Bathurst finished first in 1:45.33 seconds.

“I love being on the swim team because I love being able to hang out and work out with my friends,” senior Reyna Workman said.

The Mustangs are currently 1-0 overall and the boys team will compete in the SBI prelims on Mar. 20 and the girls will compete on Mar. 21.

“Swim team is super fun because you are able to meet people that I might not have met otherwise,” Workman said.
