Mira Costa junior Daniela Arensdorf uses her fashion blog to share her personal style with others.

Arensdorf began outlining her fashion blog one year ago, when she realized that she wanted an outlet for her love of clothes. She decided to post her blog and announce it on social media about five months ago, so she could give fashion advice to her followers.

“I follow a lot of really cool fashion bloggers and it’s always been a passion of mine, so wanted to start a blog to express myself through a website, so people could see a different side of me,” Arensdorf said. “I started the blog thinking that it would be just for personal enjoyment, but I realized it would be cool for people to see, so I got the website running.”

Arensdorf’s blog is composed of fashion advice columns along with many pictures to encourage people to create their own personal style, Arensdorf said. Before creating her blog, she said she had a photoshoot with a professional photographer in order to have authentic and high quality pictures uploaded to inspire people.

“I like how you can express yourself through clothes, because everyone is so unique,” Arensdorf said. “Fashion is such a cool thing, and for me styling outfits is such a cool part of fashion because you can put together so many different outfits with the same pieces and you can see so many different varieties of something so similar.”

For now, Arensdorf posts on her blog solely to help others and to express herself, but she has considered someday making a profit from her blog.

“In middle school I started getting into fashion a lot, just by buying certain clothes and being trendy, but in high school I found my unique style and started separating myself from people,” Arensdorf said. “Last year, I realized that I really want to pursue fashion when I’m older.”

To supplement her passion for fashion, Arensdorf recently started working for a local Manhattan Beach boutique called LF. Arensdorf works as a stylist, so she has the opportunity to meet customers and discuss their personal styles and then put together outfits for them.

“LF is really my style; it’s me in a store,” Arensdorf said. “The job has helped me with getting to talk to people and styling people.”

Arensdorf uses various social media platforms, such as Snapchat and Instagram to promote her blog, she said.

“I remember the first day I posted my blog, I got so many responses and people saying they loved my blog and that it really helped them,” Arensdorf said. “I enjoy writing a lot and styling people. A girl came up to me in the gym and told me that she loved my blog, and I didn’t even know her, so that’s really cool that someone I didn’t even know found it.”

In the future, Arensdorf plans to major in Fashion Design or Fashion Marketing, and then get a few internships for different companies after college.

“I think fashion connects with movie stars and singing, because you see a lot of singers, actors, and actresses on red carpets wearing famous brands,” Arensdorf said. “My biggest dream is to start my own line and work for celebrities, and for them to say that they’re wearing my clothes.”
