Junior and YouTuber Emma Doyle’s extracurricular activities  include sharing her experiences with the world and inspiring others on her YouTube channel.

Emma Doyle created her channel, titled “McKenna and Emma,” with her older sister and MCHS alumnus Mckenna Doyle. Their videos include a wide range of themes including lifestyle and travel. Their channel consists of videos uploaded monthly, with the goal of sharing their experiences and teaching important life lessons, they said.

“Emma’s videos are really special because they touch up on situations that shouldn’t be ignored when they occur,” Emma’s friend and Costa junior Yasmeen Norman said. “I think everyone can take something away from them.”

Emma’s  most recent video, “Facing Regret” shares her experience running for Associated Student Body President and the ups and downs she faced throughout the process. Throughout her journey, she hopes to inspire other people to take risks and to keep on fighting after experiencing failure, Emma Doyle said.

“The video was just my way of coping with my emotions,” Emma said. “At the end of the day it is hard to lose but even worse when people don’t know the full story, so I wanted to share my experience.”

In the video, Emma shares the mistreatment she was shown during the ASB election. Students wrote inappropriate phrases and images on her property, including defacing her car, she said. Instead of feeling sorry for herself, she decided to do something about it and post her story on YouTube.

“I was honestly shocked at the way people could treat her for being her,” Norman said. “She went all out and was brave enough to run, and got made fun of it for no reason. I think she truly showed so much courage for posting it and expressing her situation.”

In addition to sharing her personal story, Emma gave the viewers advice on taking risks and regret. She uses her experiences and turns them into important life lessons for others

“I want to tell anyone who has felt affected by this issue that they are not alone and should not be ashamed,” Emma said. “There are good people in this world, you just have to look for them.”

Emma films her videos in her house, and they consist of both lighthearted and serious moments with her talking to the camera, making her videos simple and informative, she said.

“After [my experience running for ASB and getting bullied,] I had this burning desire to speak out about it,” Emma said. “I just sat down in front of my camera and just spoke the racing thoughts on my mind.”

Emma continues to upload  monthly videos onto her channel. She hopes that the videos make a positive impact on people.

“There’s no doubt people are going to bring you down wherever you are so you shouldn’t let that define you and change the way you approach life,” Emma said.
