Waterpolo loses to Dana Hills High School

Mira costa boys water polo headed into the weekend with two games on Friday, October 12 and Saturday, October 13. Game on Friday was cut short during the third quarter do you lightning and rain.

“We were all really excited to play Loyola,” says sophomore Dillon Clifton, “it was pretty disappointing when the game was cancelled”.

In the first quarter of the game on Friday costa went into the game with hopes of winning and was up one in the second quarter. This encouraged them to play hard and score more points than Loyola, according to sophomore Rex Robins. Before the game is canceled in the third quarter Loyola was able to score multiple goals leaving Costa down by three. Shortly after the third quarter the game was cancelled due to rain and lightning.

“We were up one point at half against a really though team,” says Robins “We were all excited and kept playing hard.”

The team went into their  game on Saturday with their heads held low according to Robins. This resulted in a ten to six loss against Dana Hills High School.

“No one really seemed like they wanted to be there after the game on Friday so we didn’t play very well as a team.” Says Robins

The Mustangs will be playing Palos Verdes on October 18th.

“We hope that we can pull together a win against Palos Verdes,” says Clifton, “After our loss on Saturday it would be really uplifting.”
