Metro Boomin’s second album “NOT ALL HEROS WEAR CAPES” lives up to the hype and further cements Metro’s legacy over the course of the past year.

“NOT ALL HEROS WEAR CAPES” provides intriguing and energetic beats that match up well with vocals from a variety of artists. However, the album has a couple of songs that leave the listener not wanting to listen again. Many of the songs lack differentiable beats and the lyrics are not very relatable for the listener.

Metro Boomin is a 25-year-old producer from St. Louis who now lives in Atlanta. He has released several rap hits such as “Mask Off” and “Bad and Boujee” and this album has a few songs to add to the long list of hits..

Since late 2015, Metro Boomin has turned himself into a huge figure in pop culture with his hit song “Savage Mode” which featured 21 Savage and was played everywhere. Since then, he has been featured on tracks for artists such as Drake and Kodak Black.

The first apparent aspect of “NOT ALL HEROS WEAR CAPES” is its numerous amount of different artists on every song. The inability to listen to a similar album throughout leaves the listener feeling like they are listening to several singles pieced together without purpose.

Despite the lack of cohesiveness and meaning in the album, most songs are very catchy, which is why this album sits atop the charts shortly after its release. The beats make the album likable, yet some songs that feature a worse beat, such as “Borrowed Love”, don’t leave the listener wanting to hear it again.

Another positive aspect of the album was its inclusion of popular artists ranging from Travis Scott to Swae Lee. Metro’s inclusion of big-name artists from such a wide variety of genres, all the way from rap to electronic dance music, attracts music fans far and wide.

This album was a complete success for Metro as it pushed him even further into the spotlight and it features several hits that will likely be played a lot in the future. The versatility and skill shown by Metro on this album prove why he is a top producer in rap.

“NOT ALL HEROS WEAR CAPES” was released on Nov. 2 and can be purchased on iTunes for $10.99, with each song being $1.29. It can also be streamed on Apple Music, Spotify, and other streaming sites.
