Another legendary album from John Legend made Santa and his elves even more ready for Christmas!
John Legend’s “A Legendary Christmas” came just in time to reign in the holiday season. Christmas albums need to be created just right or else Christmas lovers will be offended. Legend’s album is magnificent and was created perfectly and should be sung by all families who are getting ready for Christmas.
This album is Legend’s sixth studio album, and his first Christmas album. He claims that he has always wanted to do a Christmas album and this was his time to shine. “A Legendary Christmas” is considered to be in the pop christmas genre yet his songs have so much soul in them that it’s like a mixture of pop, soul and R&B.
Legend’s album includes 14 Christmas songs that have a variety of traditional Christmas tunes with Legend’s spins on them. He also has incredible singers that are featured on the album like Stevie Wonder and Esperanza Spalding that add special touches to the songs.
This album is unique in that the tunes are joyous and lively yet calming and soothing at the same time. This aspect is created due to the fun lyrics and upbeat beats, while Legend’s voice is as smooth as butter. The perfect balance of liveliness and tranquilness in each story draws listeners in and proves that Legend’s first Christmas album is a brilliant success.
One of the best songs on the album is “What Christmas Means to Me,” which features Stevie Wonder and has everything that listeners want in a Christmas song. It has great instruments in the background, especially the trumpet, and is combined with Legend’s soulful voice, which makes listeners wish they could spend the holidays with him.
Overall, the whole 49:44 minute album is worth every single second and will not disappoint. So, listeners should put on their santa hats, christmas pj’s, hot coco and snuggle up to a warm fire to listen to this classic album that is bound to put a smile on listeners faces.

While people can argue that it should have been released closer to Christmas, one could say that anytime after Thanksgiving is Christmas time, therefore it was released at a perfect time.
