Mira Costa girls soccer continues to kick their way through the rounds of California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and are keeping up their impressive  season in the playoffs after a 3-2 win on the road against Moorpark on Tuesday.

The Mustangs were led to victory by junior Ashley Stepczyk who scored two huge goals to give Costa the lead. Their offense executed their plays well and defensively they played tough and held  Moorpark to two goals to clintch the road win. They want to keep up their momentum and continue to execute their plays and gameplans going into the next round of CIF. In the next  round of  CIF  playoffs the Mutangs will  take on another difficult challenge as they take on Vista Murrieta in a very important  home game tomorrow.

“I think that we have the ability to win CIF because of our depth and team chemistry,” junior forward Chloe Hartley said. “So far we have had a really great season, and we want to continue to win and make it all the way to the CIF Finals.”

The team has been practicing every day in order to prepare for the playoffs. The practices have been pretty difficult, but effective,  Hartley said. They have not only been working on  their footwork, plays and skills but also have been conditioning so that they are completly prepared for what is coming their way in the upcoming rounds of CIF.

“We have a really good group of girls  this year that all play with a lot of heart which is a great quality,” senior defender Josie Wigodsky said.
