Netflix’s recent Travis Scott documentary, “Look Mom I Can Fly,” captivates audiences with an inside look at the artist’s unbelievable career.

“Look Mom I Can Fly” is an exciting documentary that showcases Scott’s concerts, records and eccentric lifestyle. The film keeps the viewer engaged with a compilation of shocking videos that reveal what goes on behind the scenes of Scott’s life.

“Look Mom I Can Fly” is directed by White Trash Tyler and produced by  Scott, Stormi Webster, David Stromberg and Angus Wall. Scott stars in the documentary, and features appearances from his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, and his mother, Wanda Webster.

The documentary briefly chronicles Scott’s rise to fame but mainly focuses on his album “ASTROWORLD,”  which came out on Aug. 3, 2018, and the details and inspiration surrounding it. “Look Mom I Can Fly” also emphasizes Scott’s loving relationship with his family and one-year-old daughter, Stormi Webster.

Unlike most documentaries, “Look Mom I Can Fly” does not include interviews or a narration that frames the storyline of the film. Instead, the film is a compilation of videos of past concerts, Scott recording songs and candid moments of him with his friends and family. All of the clips are skillfully arranged in a way that still manages to tell a story without piecing together an explicit narrative.

The intensity of Scott’s concerts is revealed in clips throughout the documentary. Some of the concert videos are shocking, showing unconscious fans being wheeled out of the show and other fans stage diving headfirst into the crowd. Although the videos are slightly disturbing, they keep viewers enticed as they watch the chaotic scenes  to Scott’s sold- out concerts across America.

Although some of the scenes in “Look Mom I Can Fly” are disturbingly intense, the documentary also showcases the artist’s vulnerable side. Clips of Scott with his daughter, Stormi, are shown back to back with similar clips of Scott when he was a child. These intimate scenes  reiterate the emphasis of family in Scott’s life.

“Look Mom I Can Fly” mainly focuses on the inspirations surrounding Scott’s album “ASTROWORLD,”  and shows a great deal of footage from an amusement park that was set up for Scott’s album tour in Houston, Texas. This scene memorializes the amusement park that Scott went to when he was a child, Six Flags AstroWorld, which closed in 2005, and is the inspiration behind Scott’s album.

“Look Mom I Can Fly” is geared toward mature audiences, as it contains extensive profanity that may be offensive to some viewers. It also shows graphic clips of the aftermath of Scott’s concerts, depicting unconscious fans and chaotic mosh pits.

“Look Mom I Can Fly” is a stimulating documentary about the successful artist’s life and the excitement surrounding his newest album, “ASTROWORLD.” The film is well worth the watch and keeps the audience engaged as it outlines the intensity of Scott’s successful career.

“Look Mom I Can Fly” was released on Netflix on Aug. 28 and is available for streaming on Netflix.
