Hermosa Beach hosted a free household hazardous and electronic waste collection event on Jan. 18 at Clark Stadium.
Los Angeles County Public Works and the Sanitation District of L.A. presented the event, which was open to all L.A. residents. Participants brought chemicals, e-waste, paints solvents and sharp objects to dispose of.
“Events like this one help teach communities like ours the importance of disposing of particular waste in the safest way possible,” Hermosa Beach resident and junior Laine Weston said.
