Conan Gray’s most recent album, “Kid Krow” stuns listeners with emotional lyrics that pull on their heart-strings.
Gray recently released his single, “Maniac” after his first album “Sunset Season” that debuted in 2018. “Kid Krow” brings a powerful and relatable message and conveys it through empowering lyrics in Gray’s unique style, showing Gray’s journey as an artist.
The album has a total of 12 songs and contains two singles, “Maniac” and “The Story” that Gray released earlier. Gray has built his music career of of his previous Youtube platform, making his releases instantly spark attention. “Kid Krow” brings listeners through Gray’s heart wrenching story of abuse and his other childhood traumas that he has had to go through while showing how to overcome those challenges and grow as a person.
While being an album about heavy, dark subjects the overall tone overcomes that and is more upbeat and enjoyable to listen to. The dark thoughts are hidden through strong melodies which makes the album unique.
This album is a big milestone for Gray coming out of his shell and uncovering some of his dark past. This vulnerable side of him shows through his music in this album, making it even more pleasing. Many of the topics are relatable for many listeners, which can spread a broader message.
“The Story” is one of the most influential pieces in the album. Each lyric has a strong meaning and story that adds to the integrity of the album. This song focuses on Gray’s childhood years, bringing an innocent and soft tone with strong and emotional lyrics with a deeper meaning which makes it unique to the rest of the album.
