Meadows Elementary School is holding a shoe fundraiser from Jan. 5-March 4 to collect gently worn or new shoes to donate to places in need.

The school’s goal is to reach 2,500 shoes to donate by the end of the fundraiser. These shoes can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The shoes will be donated to countries such as Tanzania, Haiti and Columbia.

“This fundraiser gives back in multiple ways, by giving our community a socially responsible way to dispose of shoes that might otherwise take a lifetime to decompose somewhere else and support micro-entrepreneurs with small businesses,” Meadows Principal Michelle Krzmarzick said.
