Beginning on April 15, all Los Angeles residents 16 years of age and older are now allowed to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

Currently, the only vaccine viable for injection in adolescents 16 and 17 is the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, a 95% effective shot that includes two rounds of injections. The Pfizer vaccine has not yet been approved for adolescents under 16 years old, though it is currently pushing for authorization by the FDA.

“I feel great about getting the vaccine because I know everything in it is safe, and it’s worth it for everything to go back to how it was before the pandemic,” sophomore Nate Sagadevan said.
