“Don’t Worry Darling ” is a psychological thriller that is not solely dramatic and intense but correspondingly mysterious and unpredictable. The film is phenomenal for its intricate storyline and an astonishing cast of many well-known celebrities.
The movie has a fantastic storyline and starts off by showcasing Alice and Jack’s life together as they eat breakfast and Jack goes to work. Every day is alike for Alice in Victory until she begins to notice abnormal things and gets visions. She believes there is something more to the “Victory Project,” where some of the men work, but everyone else believes she is going crazy. Jack and Alice have a close relationship and care deeply for each other, but Alice’s hysteria could get in the way of that as they attempt to hold their life with each other together. The story is entertaining, thrilling, and never boring.
“Don’t Worry Darling” is doing surprisingly well in the box office, even though critics have rated it poorly. In the first three weeks since its premiere, the film has been doing well in theaters but has low rotten tomatoes at 39%. The story follows a 1950s housewife in the idyllic community of Victory, California, as she begins to question everything around her.
The cast included Florence Pugh as Alice Chambers, Harry Styles as Jack Chambers, Chris Pine as Frank, Gemma Chan as Shelley, Nick Kroll as Dean, and Olvia Wilde as Bunny. Wilde also directed the movie and has fought much backlash, starting even before the film was released. According to Vanity Fair, there were multiple incidents between Wilde and Pugh that left many shocked.
Katie Silberman, Carey VanDyke, and Shane Van Dyke wrote a story which the script is based on. The script featured a fantastic plot with great character development. It is apparent that a lot of hardwork and detail went into writing the screenplay.
Olivia Wilde did an amazing job as director. She brought the script to life by helping to encapsulate dramatic moments as well as bring the script to life. As a result of Wilde’s talent, the film was beautifully shot.
The “Don’t Worry Darling” costume crew designed and picked amazing costumes for the characters that made the film feel 1950s perfectly. The women’s clothing had fun patterns and bright colors. An enormous quantity of effort and dedication evidently went into making the costumes.
The film featured a fantastic soundtrack that adds to the emotional and mystifying feelings. Most of the music was by John Powell, aside from “With You All the Time,” which was written by Harry Styles and performed as a duet throughout the film by Jack and Alice.
“Don’t Worry Darling” is a must-see, showcasing talented actors, a fantastic and thrilling plot, an incredible soundtrack, and amazing costumes. There was certainly lots of dedication put into this film, which has definitely paid off.
