Netflix’s newly released Christmas film, “Falling for Christmas” has holiday lovers excited for a comical new film to watch.
“Falling for Christmas” was released on Netflix on Nov. 10 and had one of the best viewing weekends of the year. According to Netflix, the movie is the to No.2 film on the platform.
The new Christmas movie has fans excited and anticipating for another original holiday film. “Falling for Christas” truly elevated this year’s holiday season with a warm and romantic story line. The setting and acting were perfectly executed, leaving viewers content.
Director Janeen Damian’s idea for this film was to convey that one should find their true self despite the effect other peoples actions. The movie was perfectly cast, starring Lindsay Lohan as Sierra Belmont; Chord Overstreet as Jake Russel; Chase Ramsey as Terry Carver; Aliana Lohan as Bianca; and George Young as Tad Fairchild.
During the beginning of the film, viewers were introduced to a spoiled girl named Sierra who found everything she wanted easily attainable. This character, that never knew the value of money, ended up in an accident that forced her to lose her memories and her identity. Throughout the film, she starts to find herself with the help of Jake Russel.
“Falling for Christmas” tried to make this Christmas story as believable as possible, despite having to overcome the impractical premise of a character who lost all of her memories to a tragic accident. As the townspeople try to help out the lost woman, Sierra is able to create a new life for the person that she will become.
From the start, Damian’s approach to filmmaking is remarkable. She was able to unravel a beautiful Christmas story full of laughter, hope, and the true meaning of relationships.
Lohan’s performance as Sierra Belmont was executed perfectly, with the happiness and hope written into the character’s dialogue, helping to make the role a perfect fit. Lohan’s acting was spectacular due to her ability to transform into her role and make Sierra an extraordinary character despite her struggles.
Many relationships in the movie were unexpectedly created, providing intrigue and excitement to viewers. Seeing the protagonists’ relationship change throughout the film was spectacular.
The setting of the film was perfect to set the mood and the theme for the holidays, and the outfits that were picked for each character were picked to fit their personality. At the beginning, there were more vibrant colors to stand out and as the movie went on the outfits changed to more comfortable items you could lounge in.
This new holiday film provides the perfect mix of nuance and nostalgia to create a Christmas cliche. The complexity of multiple motifs results in a unique and endearing holiday film.
“Falling for Christmas” is a must-watch to get in the Christmas and holiday spirit, and offers an amazing cast, beautiful music, and an easy plot line to follow due to phenomenal characters.
