A popular program worldwide, ChatGPT raises concerns for the artificial intelligence world, as it
has been adopted by some students as a method of cheating and plagiarising. This promotes a
lack of human interaction, and it is subject to error and providing false information.
According to OpenAI, the technology in ChatGPT works in a conversational manner by
answering questions, admitting mistakes, challenging incorrect premises, and rejecting
inappropriate requests. This text-generating AI can be used across the internet by any
individual, which is concerning in itself.
According to Fox9 News, ChatGPT presents an ethical imbalance regarding academic honesty
and honor codes. Just by inputting a few words into the software creates a high-quality piece of
writing that students can plagiarize and pass off as their own work. Per the New York Times, the
website also has the ability to deliver facts in a professional manner and to draft business plans,
term paper topics and other new ideas from scratch, making it difficult to detect plagiarism and unoriginal work. The rise of ChatGPT jeopardizes academic integrity and should be eradicated
from student use.
According to CyberWise, though the chatbot can provide factual information, it lacks the ability
to provide personalized feedback or one-on-one, student-teacher interaction. If school systems
adopt software as a teaching method, it will limit students’ learning experiences in a negative

audiences, as reliance on technology to provide innovative ways of thinking leads to
less-ambitious students and an increase in depression and anxiety.
Some may say that the new software provides an innovative way of teaching in school
environments. However, Per CyberWise, ChatGPT is subject to error as it may fail to include
vital information on certain topics because the software is only as knowledgeable as what it has
been trained on. Users must be careful to not let it interfere with their personal and academic writing.
