The 2023 Mira Costa Scholar Quiz began Mar. 21, 2023, and will continue over a six-day period. Costa’s Scholar Quiz is a jeopardy-like trivia tournament with over 250 participating students and 64 teams.
The tournament tests student knowledge concerning a multitude of topics, ranging from historical figures to physical science equations. Each team is composed of four students regardless of age, grade, and gender. The event is primarily organized by parent, teacher and community volunteers who assist in hosting the daily competitions on campus.
“It’s a really fun and competitive environment,” freshman Kylie Cullen said. “It’s fast-paced and since there isn’t an exact way to prepare, you never know what question you’ll get.”
The bracket located in the Mustang Mall provides daily updated information about advancing teams and lunch competition locations. Scholar quiz finals are scheduled for Thursday, Mar. 30, at 9:30-10:30 A.M. in the auditorium and is open for all.
“Scholar quiz is a great way to connect with students, teachers, and Costa’s community,” sophomore Kiera Delmonte said. “I’m super glad I participated, and encourage anyone thinking about participating to go for it next year!”
