Boys tennis beat Redondo in an away match on Tuesday, winning in games after tying sets 9-9. The close match was very exciting according to Max Campell

“We worked really well as a team, pumping each other up,” Campbell said. “We were able to stay focused and strong all the way throughout the match which helped guide us to the victory.”

The Mustangs were tied in the first round 3-3. The team found momentum and carried their weight in doubles/singles and were able to stay consistent and pull out the win.

“We had a couple matches where we were down, but we fought them out and came back to secure the tight win,” Campbell said. “At the end it was 9-9 but we were up in games so we won.”

During the second round the Seahawks caught up, tying 6-6, but Costa was up five games. According to Campbell, it was important not to get tight and become intimidated by Redondo’s comeback. This was the teams last match of the season.

“We finished 12-10, and we aren’t guaranteed to make CIF, but hoping for a wild card,” Campbell said. “Regardless of what happens, we plan to improve in the off-season and come back stronger than we were before.”
