Water polo beats PV 13-8 Oct. 5

Sept. 10-17

Costa finished 3-2 in the South Costa tournament Sept. 13-16  in  Orange county. Costa beat Servite, 11-5; San Juan Hills, 17-8; and Edison, 19-6, while losing to Bishops, 13-9, and Ventura, 10-9.  Costa placed 25 in the tournament  and is ranked 21st  in the Southern Section with an overall record of 6-4.  

 “The weekend was a good learning opportunity, I think we can work on a lot of things but we played well and had a complete team,” said junior water polo player Roman Uriostegui. 

 

Junior Roman Uriostegui plays in the division 1 water polo tournament in the South Costa tournament in Orange County. 

Costa played in the division 1, which is the second best division a team can play in. Overall the team went 3-2 in the tournament. Costa’s next game is Sept. 26 at Corona Del Mar High School.

Sept. 24- Oct. 1

 Pg1:Costa played 1 game tuesday Sept. 26 against Corona Del Mar losing 7-17. They also Played in the SNL cup over the weekend going 3-1. The first game they lost 11-6 to Huntington beach. Then they proceeded to beat Crean Lutheran, 15-11; Portola, 12-9; and LB wilson, 12-7. Cost placed 9th in the tournament and has an overall record of 9-6.

Pg2: “ The team really came together in the end to beat LB Wilson, and we are looking forward to our future league games.” said senior varsity water polo player Wayatt Edwards.

Costa played in the division 1, which is the second best division a team can play in. Overall the team went 3-2 this week. With an impressive 3-1 record in the SNR cup Friday and Saturday. Costa’s next game is Oct. 3 vs Peninsula home. 

Oct. 1- Oct. 8

Mira Costa Water Polo finished 2-0 this week (Oct 1-6). Their first game was against Peninsula High School, Tuesday Oct. 3rd; 14-6, and Palos Verdes High School Oct. 5th 13-8. Overall Mira Costa is ranked 37th in CA on Maxpreps.com. Costa  has an overall record of 11-6. 

“This week we had a strong performance, I was happy to see us crush our competition and we are ready to take on Santa Margarita.” said senior varsity water polo player Wayatt Edwards.

Costa played in the division 1, which is the second best division a team can play in. Overall the team went 2-0 this week. Cost also was able to jump up 7 places from their previous 44th placement in CA. Costa’s next game is Nov. 7th  vs Santa Margarita .
