Girls’ Volleyball Win the Bay League with Sweep Over Redondo

Mira Costa girls volleyball defeated their rivals, Redondo Union, on Thursday night. Costa successfully won, 3-0, in a sweep over the Seahawks.

“We played as a team and we had really high energy which helped us a lot,” Sophomore Outside Hitter Audrey Flanagan said. “We came out strong from the first point which set the tone for the rest of the match.”

The Mustangs are in preparation for playoffs and are working on their skill in a variety of ways. According to sophomore setter Milly McGee, the team is working hard in the weight room and on the court.

“We have drive to go hard every day,” McGee said. “Our team goal is to win CIF, and that’s what gives us motivation to continue working hard every practice and lift.

 Mira Costa goes undefeated in Bay League with a 10-0 record, making them Bay League champs. Their next game is the first game of CIFSS playoffs on Oct.18, against Los Alamitos.
