It’s time to tantalize your taste buds with healthy drinks and snacks.
Boba Loca has a wide selection of drinks to choose from including hot drinks, milk shakes, frappe blends, smoothies and fusion iced teas. According to store manager, Marie Demol, the most popular drinks are the tapioca milk tea and classic favorites, such as coconut milk tea, Bobaloca coffee and Thai milk tea.
“We have very healthy drinks that are low in calories,” Demol said. “A lot of people like us because of our healthy and unique flavors. We have a lot of regular costumers because they get hooked on their favorite drinks.”
In addition to the selection of exotic drink flavors, Boba Loca is most known for the tapioca “boba” balls served in every drink.
“Boba Loca is a great hangout for my friends and me to study while drinking my favorite caramel frappe blend with less boba balls. I enjoy the cozy and relaxing ambience of the place,” senior Thea Jaucian said.
Along with serving drinks, this shop also serves a variety of fresh food that includes tasty style pastries, such as croissants, scones, muffins and sandwiches.
“I don’t go to Boba Loca very often, but when I do, I like ordering pastries like their bagels and muffins. The food is pretty good and goes really well with their different drinks,” senior Tom Farrell said.
Boba Loca is located at 210 N Aviation Blvd. # C in Manhattan Beach near Costa. There are other locations in nearby cities such as Torrance and Redondo.
“My favorite flavor is the mocha frappe with extra boba tapioca balls. I’ve been to some other Boba shops, but none of them measure up to the Boba Loca on Aviation,” sophomore Carley Muller said.
According to Demol, about 150 to 200 costumers stop by this addicting shop each day and about half of the costumers are students.
Boba Loca is a common place for students to stop by before or after school to get their favorite drinks and snacks. On the weekends the shop is even busier with teens, families and friends coming in to order and hang out with the free wi-fi.
“I love all the exotic flavors Boba Loca has,” sophomore Alex Waller said. “I can’t pick my favorite because there are just so many I like. All of my friends are addicted to this shop and we go all the time after school.”
