Boys tennis defeats Redondo, securing CIF spot

On May 3, the Mira Costa boys tennis team defeated Redondo in its last Bay League match. With this win, the Mustangs have secured a spot in CIF play. The team’s record is now 12-10 overall and 4-5 in league.

The number two doubles team of sophomores Michael Carella and Ben Sands swept their matches with scores of 6-1, 6-3 and 7-5. Number one singles player, senior Toni Cvitanic, won two of his three sets 6-1 and 6-0.

On May 4, Cvitanic will accompany senior Will Wong and sophomore Kyvan Elap to the Bay League singles tournament at the Kramer Club. The following day is the Bay League doubles tournament.
