On Dec. 13, the Mira Costa boys basketball team competed in its first game of the Hilltop Classic Tournament against Harvard Westlake High School. The Mustangs were bested by their opponent in the 86-60 loss, giving them their second loss of the season.
Senior center Keith Waddell led Costa with 12 points and senior forwardKarl Acres followed with eight points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard Kevin Kim also added nine points and three steals.
The Mustangs, with a record of 5-2, will face Abbotsford Collegiate, a school from Canada. The game will take place on Dec. 14 at Palos Verdes High School in the Hilltop Classic.
