English teacher Andrea Cons-Diller resigned on Sept. 25 after her first two months of teaching at Costa for unknown reasons.
Sarah Caamano, a former English teacher at Manhattan Beach Middle School, is currently teaching Cons-Diller’s first and sixth periods. Though she was instated as a Costa employee on Oct. 1, Caamano will only teach for part of each day at Costa until another instructor takes over her classes at the middle school.
“Mira Costa is such a great school, so it was a no-brainer that I would love to work here,” Caamano said. “The students are intelligent and the staff is motivated to help the students succeed.”
According to Caamano, she received a call from the district asking if she would like the position. She will be teaching English 9 and 10 CP at Costa this year.
“We really want teachers who want to be here at Costa,” Costa Vice Principal Jon Shaw said. “Ms.Caamano is one of those teachers and she is a great fit.”
