Softball earns victory in wild-card round in CIF

The Mira Costa softball team played at home in the wild-card round of CIF playoffs on Tuesday May 15 against visiting Temescal Canyon and beat them by a score of 13-8.

The Mustangs jumped out to a 12-run lead in the first three innings and proceeded to bring in some substitutes to get some playing time. Temescal Canyon made a comeback in the seventh inning by scoring five runs, but was not able to complete the comeback.

Junior Taylor Glover led Mira Costa’s offense against Temescal Canyon by going three for three with two doubles, four runs batted in, and two runs scored.

Mira Costa’s record now moves to 22-7 on the season and advances to play Highland in the first round of CIF playoffs on Thursday at Highland.
