Mira Costa cross country displays promising start to season in Laguna Hills Invitational

On Saturday September 8th the Mira Costa boys and girls cross country teams participated in the Laguna Hills Invitational meet. The boys team placed 10th overall with a combined time of 1:22:47, behind Bay League rivals Peninsula High School, who finished in third place with a time of 1:20:48. The girls team finished in first place overall with a combined time of 1:34:01. Their biggest Bay League rivals, Redondo Union High School, did not compete.

Junior Abby Hong led the Mira Costa girls team with a time of 18:22. This is Hong’s third year running for the varsity team.

Senior Michael Goldberg got first place for the boys team with a time of 16:16, breaking his previous personal record for the Laguna Hills Invite.

Both the boys and girls team will be running in Costa Mesa at the Woodbridge Invitational on Saturday, September 15th.
