Costa’s Associated Student Body hosted the “Rave Dance” on Sept. 7 in the cafeteria after the first home football game of the year.

ASB used strobe light decorations and played pop and techno music. Students were encouraged to wear neon clothing and were given glow sticks.

“The main purpose of the dance was to let students have fun and celebrate the game,” ASB Activities Director Lisa Claypoole said.

Students who attended the dance believe the ‘‘Rave’’ was well done.

“I hung out with friends and had an awesome time,” sophomore Bowen Boullianne said.

According to Claypoole, the dance had a higher success rate than in previous years.

“A lot of students don’t come to the dances we hold, but the attendance and dance exceeded my expectations,” Claypoole said. “There were no behavior issues, and everybody had a good time.”

Students believe changes to the ‘‘Rave Dance’’ since last year enhanced its appeal.

“I went to last year’s ‘rave’ dance, but this one was better,” junior Garrett Greller said. “It’s because they advertised more and had cool decorations.”

The next ASB dance will be the Homecoming Dance on Oct. 20.

“I thought we had a great turnout, and I can’t wait for the next dance,” ASB President Dillon Shambough said.
