On Saturday March 23, the Mira Costa baseball team lost to JW North High School 2-1 in extra innings as part of the Redondo Tournament.
Senior Chris Alcala pitched the first five innings letting in only one run. Senior Gordon Cardenas and sophomore Michael Rumpp pitched for the remaining of the game, but the offense could not score.
“We played a good defensive game,” junior outfielder Ryan Corral said. “We could not manufacture the runs when we needed them, but it was a good game.”
The boys next game will be against Westchester High School tomorrow at home.
