The Mira Costa boys lacrosse team beat Downey High School, 15-11 on Friday, April 12.
Senior Michael Winfrey scored three goals, followed by two goals from Mark Matsushima. Artie Dossick also scored a goal. In defense senior Shayan Ghafori prevented several goals and sophomore John Van Sickle played a great game as goalie.
“We really pulled it together this match and played a smart game,” Winfrey said.
