Health has recently become a main focus in society, and the new juice bar, Nékter, has this common trend. Nékter opened in the Manhattan Beach Metlox Center downtown on May 15. Nékter is a raw, all- natural vegan Juice Bar that delivers juice products to its customers.

“Our main focus is for Nékter to offer a quick-serve, healthy and alternative snack,” owner Steve Schulze said. “My wife and I both agreed that it was a great substitute for the traditional smoothie, which has tons of sugar and artificial ingredients.”

The first Nékter was opened in Costa Mesa in October 2010. According to Schulze, Nékter aimed to provide the perfect morning drink and low-sugar nutritious snack choices that can be enjoyed throughout the day.

“Nékter is a great place for a quick after- school snack,” freshman Olivia Everhard said. “I love having it after a track workout or a stressful day.”

Nékter’s nutritious menu offers various fresh juices, smoothies, acaí bowls, shots of wheatgrass and ginger and juice cleanses. It also offers “Make Your Own” juices and smoothies, where customers choose ingredients to create their own Nékter beverage, using selected ingredients of their choice.

“The ginger lemonade bottled Nékter Grab n’ Go and the tropical acaí bowl are so refreshing and tasty,” freshman Chloe Smith said. “They have many size varieties from 32 ounces to 8 ounces, They are the perfect snacks, and I can feel good about myself after.”

Nékter is well-known for its Nékter Cleanse Program, which can last up to five days and is supposed to rid the body of toxins. Many locals think the healthy aspect of Nékter is a great step in creating a health-conscious community.

“Nékter is trendy, fresh-smelling and extremely healthy, which perfectly compliments the ideal Manhattan Beach lifestyle,” senior Nékter employee Sawyer Fuller said.
