As the spirit of the holidays near, Kelly Clarkson’s new album, Wrapped In Red gets us ready for the upcoming holidays.
Kelly Clarkson’s album transcends traditional, tedious holiday tunes that we know, into an upbeat modern soundtrack. This album proves that Clarkson can not only appeal to the pop audience, but also to the classic holiday music fans.
She started off her music career by winning the first season of american idol in 2002. Soon after, she wrote her first debut single, “A Moment Like This”, which topped the US Billboard Hot 100. It broke the record for the biggest jump to number one in the chart’s history; it became the best-selling single of the year in the country.
After her hit debut she was runner for World Idol, and since then she has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. Clarkson has accumulated 84 number ones on the Billboard charts, and 11 number one singles worldwide. She is not only an amazing singer but she also has been in television and movies; such as, “From Justin to Kelly” and she also appeared in “American Dreams” as Brenda Lee.
Although this album differs from all the rest of her pieces of art, she still excels. She adds her own creativity into the classic jolly tones. Her strong vocals add extra power into the pieces.
She uses the color red as a lyrical theme of the album. It not only represents the holiday time, but also red is the color of love, lust, envy, pain, and beauty. Working in the different topics to make the sounds amazing to listen and sing to.
Her first two songs “ Wrapped in Red” and “Underneath the Tree” help the listeners get into the holiday mood. She masters all the difficult notes in “Wrapped in Red”, and still amazes her audience by adding her own rendition to the song.
Others like “Run Run Rudolph”, and “4 carats” will have you on your feet and dancing within the first few minutes of the song. It is so joyous that it could make everyone get into the holiday spirit.
Not only does Clarkson show her great talent in these songs, she also brings in brings in two other talented singer to sing alongside her. She proves not only to be an amazing soloist but also can sing a duet in great harmony.
