On Nov 3, the Mira Costa boys water polo team faced off against the division 1 Huntington Beach Oilers. The Mustangs played the away game in Huntington Beach and although Mira Costa was not able to defeat the Oilers, they played a strong game in an attempt to stop Huntington Beach.

The final score of the game was 17-8 and the Oilers had the upper hand. Goals for the Mustangs came from Jake Miller-Tolt, Brandon Lavinsky, Andrew Todd and Chase Williams. Although Mira Costa put up a strong fight against the eighth ranked CIF division 1 school, they were unable to succeed, ending the game 17-8.

“Our fundamentals were solid including stretching the Oilers defense and counter defense.” senior Dylan Linnell. “Looking forward we need to work more on communication and looking to help in halfcourt defense on drives.”

Mira Costa’s next game will be held on Nov 4, 2014 at home against Redondo Union High School.
