With new remixes of old songs, Eminem brings his award winning tracks back to life in his new album “SHADYXV.”

“SHADYXV” is rapper Eminem’s newest album that features other artists such as Big Sean, Royce da 5′ 9, Slaughterhouse, and Yelawolf. Using their own original songs, the five made adjustments and additions to remix the tracks in new ways. The heavy beats and some of the new lyrics that added to the original words of Eminem only made his songs better.

Marshall Mathers, also known as Eminem and Slim Shady, is a platinum record rapper whose background and upbringing shape the majority of his songs. He was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan in a trailer park in extreme poverty. He has used this adversity to lead his career in the right direction and record 13 grammy winning songs.

Big Sean, Royce da 5’ 9, Slaughterhouse, and Yelawolf had all met or worked with Eminem before this album. These rappers wrote their own raps to cover Eminem’s work and compliment it. Their lyrics flow nicely with Eminem’s and do not take away from Eminem’s work.

“SHADYXV” contains a set of 28 tracks sung by the five artists interchangeably and in duos. The majority of the songs on the album are Eminem’s songs from previous albums but also contains songs from the rest of the artists.

The most well-known, and successful songs on the album featuring Eminem are “Lose Yourself,” “Fight Music,” and “In da Club.” These songs, having been major hits on their own, are only slightly altered on this album. These songs have impeccable rhyming rap lyrics and are instantly captivating. Had these songs been changed too much, the album would have been ruined.

Eminem is a lyrical mastermind and there is always meaning behind his words. This album is no different when it comes to his performance and lyrics. His lyrics add emotion to the song because of the way Eminem uses his enthusiasm and personal pain when he writes his songs.

The songs are excellently remixed with more electronic sounds to appeal to the popular culture of today. The sound of the lyrics is still easily audible and the heavier beats make these songs louder and more energizing, giving a positive and upbeat mood to the album.
The artists that work together on this album do a musically stunning job in remixing these songs and blending their music and voices to create great sound and meaningful lyrics.

“SHADYXV” was released on November 24 and is now available digitally and in retail for $15.99.
