Around 3:00pm today, an 11-year-old Manhattan Beach resident was involved in an attempted kidnapping while walking home from Grandview Elementary School.
According to the victim, the driver of an unknown black car demanded she enter his vehicle, at which point she ran back towards the school. Manhattan Beach Detectives are currently investigating this report.
“I encourage you to speak with your children about safety, about being aware of their surroundings at all times, and about reporting anything of concern to you,” MBUSD Superintendent Michael Matthews said in an email to parents.
