Hockey beats Manhattan Beach team 4-2

The Mira Costa hockey team faced off against Manhattan Beach on April 2, winning 4-2.

In the first period of Mira Costa’s game against Manhattan Beach, sophomore Bryce Tournat scored to put the Mustangs up by one. Manhattan Beach responded soon after with a goal to end the period tied 1-1.

“We played well on Thursday,” sophomore Chris Brown said. “We had a lot of energy and worked together to beat Manhattan.”

Manhattan Beach pulled ahead with a quick goal in the second period. Senior Oliver Gable then took a penalty. Gable then scored to tie the game off a pass by Senior Kai Borich. Gable added two more goals in the third period, completing his hat trick and ending the game with a 4-2 victory for the Mustangs.

The next game is April 17 at 5:15 pm against Palos Verdes at the Toyota Sports Center.
